How to Take a Full Page Screenshot in Chrome, Privately and in One Click

Take Private Screenshots with Chrome

Ever tried to screenshot a web page, only to get the part that fits on your screen? Most pages are much longer than your monitor, so a normal screenshot cuts off everything below the fold. Lumina-Flux Full Page Capture is a free full page screenshot Chrome extension that saves the entire page, top to bottom, as one clean image. It never sends a single byte of your data anywhere.

What is a full page screenshot?

A regular screenshot captures only what’s visible right now. A full page screenshot, sometimes called a scrolling screenshot, captures the whole web page, including everything you’d normally have to scroll down to see.

Without a tool, you’d have to take a dozen screenshots and stitch them together by hand. Full Page Capture does that for you automatically. It scrolls the page, captures each section, and joins them into one continuous image that looks exactly like the page does when you scroll through it.

How to take a full page screenshot in Chrome

  1. Install Full Page Capture from the Chrome Web Store. It’s free.
  2. Open any web page you want to save.
  3. Click the Full Page Capture icon in your toolbar, or press Alt+Shift+P (Cmd+Shift+P on a Mac).
  4. Wait a moment while the page scrolls itself and each section is captured.
  5. Done. Your full page image is saved straight to your Downloads folder.

On the results screen you can also copy the image to your clipboard or save an extra copy as a PNG or JPEG.

Why this extension is different:
Your screenshots never leave your computer

Many screenshot extensions ask for permission to “read and change all your data on all websites,” and some send your captures to their servers. Full Page Capture was built the opposite way.

  • No data is sent anywhere, ever. The extension makes zero network requests. There’s no server for it to talk to.
  • No account, no sign-in, no tracking. There are no analytics and nothing reporting what you capture.
  • It only touches the tab you click it on. It uses Chrome’s most limited kind of access (“active tab”), so it can’t see your other tabs or your browsing history.
  • Everything stays on your computer. Your settings and an optional list of recent captures are stored locally in your browser. It keeps basic details like the page title, website, date and file size, never the images themselves, and you can turn it off in Settings.

You don’t have to take our word for it. The extension is small, and it’s reviewed by Google before it’s listed on the Chrome Web Store.

Full Page Capture by Lumia-Flux’s Frequently Asked Questions

Is Full Page Capture really free? Yes. It’s completely free, with no trial, no paid upgrade and no ads.

Does it collect or upload my screenshots? No. The extension makes no network requests at all, so your images never leave your computer.

Can it capture very long pages? Yes. It scrolls and stitches the whole page. If a page is taller than the largest image Chrome can create, the capture is scaled down to fit instead of being cut off.

Why don’t sticky headers show up over and over? Full Page Capture hides fixed headers and banners after the first section, so they appear once at the top instead of repeating down the image.

What file formats can I save? PNG (best quality) or JPEG (smaller files). You can also copy the image to your clipboard.
